Well, that was an easier transition. Ross seems to have found something akin to a second wind, if not an absolutely resolute one. But he looked better than he had in the last few pits, and looks like he will make it through to the end. And then he will get a magic meat pie to mark the occasion. Although how he could stomach it after the event, I have no idea.

Dreggsy has been off the bike for a while, but still looks a lot healthier than heaps of the other cyclists out and about today. But if his race is over, it’s been a good one.

Dan has no regrets about pulling out. He didn’t have it in him physically to continue, and he pushed himself hard enough beyond his limits to know that his body was not going to cope with continuing. But his morning help around the pits with Ross has been great.

Now to start packing away whatever of the tent that I can.
